Our Mission

The SACS Ithuba Trust is a dedicated initiative established to provide previously disadvantaged young men with the financial means and support to attend SACS.

The name “Ithuba", the isiXhosa word for “opportunity”, reflects the Trust’s mission: to create meaningful opportunities for deserving young men who may otherwise not have access to a SACS education.

The Ithuba Trust exists to help bridge that gap through education, mentorship, and community support.

The Vision: SACS200 and Beyond

As SACS approaches its historic 200-year anniversary, the SACS200 bicentennial has inspired the broader school community to invest in the future of the institution and the country it serves.

This milestone represents an opportunity not only to celebrate the school’s rich history, but also to help shape the next generation of SACS scholars.

To mark this occasion, the Trust has set an ambitious goal of building a sustainable R20 million endowment. This fund will enable the support of 40 scholarship boys every year on a perpetual basis.

By contributing to the Ithuba Trust, donors become part of a long-term commitment to opportunity, excellence, and transformation, helping ensure that talented young men are able to thrive, contribute, and lead in South Africa’s future.

“I got this incredible chance to come to this great school and see what I am truly capable of and to feel the care and support from everyone here. Being part of SACS isn’t just about me; it’s about all of us coming together, showing what we’re made of, making something we can all be proud of and taking this into our future.”
