Open the door to opportunity

The SACS Ithuba Trust has set an ambitious goal of building a sustainable R20 million endowment as part of the SACS200 bicentennial journey toward 2029.

This fund will support 40 scholarship boys every year on a perpetual basis, helping create meaningful opportunities for future generations of young men.

We invite the broader SACS community to be part of this lasting investment in opportunity, excellence, and the future of South Africa.

Ithuba Trust B-BBEE opportunity explained

  • The Amendment published in May 2019 to the Broad-Based Black Economic Empowerment Act of 2003 provides the legislative framework for the Trust to receive money and allocate it to pay bursaries for black learners. Our Ithuba beneficiaries meet this criteria.
  • We call on all SACS businesses (EME, QSE and Large enterprises) who require a B-BBEE rating to consider directing their Skills Development or Socio-Economic Development (SED) spend towards SACS bursaries.
  • Donations to the Trust must be made within the financial period in which the BEE rating of the entity will be conducted.
  • The Ithuba Trust office will assist you with the verification documents required.
Section 18A explained

The SACS Ithuba Trust is a registered Public Benefit Organisation with Section 18A approval, which means donations made to the Trust may qualify for a tax deduction in South Africa. Every contribution helps create life-changing educational opportunities for young men who would otherwise be unable to attend SACS, while also allowing donors to make a meaningful and tax-efficient investment in the future of South Africa.
